Come and join us for the start of an ongoing event through the year. We are holding a family morning at Broadmead Day Centre in Golborne at 10:30am on Saturday 6th January. We will have games, food and the usual beverages.
It is the start of a new year so come an join us for games and information on what we are doing in 2024!

We offer all of our members the option of attending discounted short breaks and day's out in the UK.
Welcome to the Lowton Golborne & Ashton Mencap Society.
Our local society has been helping the local community of the Wigan area since October 1982.
We aim to help those with learning disabilities and their families in the Wigan & Leigh area.
All of our team are volunteers from all walks of life and all the 100% of monies raised go to the assistance of all our members.
We liaise with other local organisations and businesses to help with a diverse range of issues - from legal and government benefits, through to providing group short breaks and trips around the country.
Monthly Meetings
On the last Thursday of most months, starting at 7:30pm at Broadmead Day Centre at Golborne we have a get together. These evenings consist of a variety of games, news and up to date information for our members. We also hold parties throughout the year from Christmas to Halloween.
Days Out
We organise a variety of days out from a visit to Cadbury World, though to the Christmas Panto. We produce a schedule every year of the day's out - all of which are discounted for our members.
Twice a year, we organise short UK breaks at a very competitive price, including coach travel. These are in April and December and are "half board" events. These are always very popular and are booked quickly by our members.
It allows anyone who is a parent, guardian, friends and family members of those with a learning disability to get - together for a chat and to solve those problems that you may have.
Even if you have no links with the learning disabled, you will be welcomed to our group as any time that you can give is always welcome.
